# Courses and supervision

My teaching rests on three principles: student autonomy, theory–practice integration, and learning by doing in digitally enabled environments. I use project-based and portfolio assessments that require students to document their thinking over the course.

I have supervised approximately 86 completed Bachelor's and Master's theses since 2015, with 7 ongoing, in person and fully remote.

- [Designing Digital Products and Processes for Business Analysts](https://dgmn.eu/teaching/practitioner-courses/index.md): I co-designed and delivered practitioner courses on digital product development, process management and agile methods. Competence: Turning agile and process methods into working practice for business analysts.
- [New Forms of Development](https://dgmn.eu/teaching/new-forms-of-development/index.md): Master's course on project-driven low-code development, designed and assessed fully online. The digital portfolio replaces the written final examination. Competence: Building working software in teams with low-code tooling, and documenting decisions over a whole project.
- [PRAXIS Summer Camp](https://dgmn.eu/teaching/praxis-summer-camp/index.md): One-week intensive format in which student teams work on real problems set by industry partners. I supervise teams, co-organise the format and act as the academic contact for the partners. Competence: Scoping a real business problem with a partner, and delivering a usable result under a fixed deadline.
- [Thesis supervision](https://dgmn.eu/teaching/thesis-supervision/index.md): More than 86 bachelor's and master's theses supervised since 2015, through regular one-to-one meetings, written feedback on drafts and the final assessment. Competence: Helping people build their own judgement, and saying clearly when work is not there yet.
- [Information Systems & Business Process Management](https://dgmn.eu/teaching/information-systems-bpm/index.md): Process modelling with BPMN. FeedForward grew out of this course; the BPMN LLM judges project is related. Competence: Modelling business processes and judging the quality of process models.
- [Capstone Project](https://dgmn.eu/teaching/capstone-project/index.md): Converted to a fully online, flipped-classroom format with a redesigned digital assessment. I ran a two-week crash course in React and Tailwind CSS for student teams building prototypes. Competence: Onboarding into an unfamiliar web stack quickly, and running a student project fully online.
- [Digital Innovation Project](https://dgmn.eu/teaching/digital-innovation-project/index.md): A semester-long, team-based development project that applies Digital Innovation concepts, designed for online delivery with GitLab-based milestones. Competence: Running a team project end to end with asynchronous, digital milestone assessment.
- [Database Systems](https://dgmn.eu/teaching/database-systems/index.md): SQL course converted to an online, flipped format with digital assessment. Both formats were kept after the pandemic. Competence: Teaching SQL and relational data design in a digital, flipped format.
