Privacy Policy
1. Who I am
This Privacy Policy explains how Phil Diegmann ("I", "me", "my") processes personal data when you visit my website, available at https://dgmn.eu.
I am the data controller responsible for the processing of personal data described in this Privacy Policy, within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
If you have any questions about this policy or the processing of your personal data, you can contact me at:
- Email: phl@dgmn.eu
2. Information processed when you visit this website
This website is a static website. I do not operate contact forms, user accounts, analytics services, advertising, or user-tracking technologies.
When you visit the website, certain technical information is automatically processed by the infrastructure providers necessary to deliver its content. This information may include:
- Your IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Requested URL and HTTP request information
- Browser type, version and operating system
- Referrer information, if provided by your browser
- Technical information about the request and its response
This information is processed primarily by my hosting provider as part of delivering the website, maintaining its availability and protecting it against malicious activity.
I do not independently collect, analyse or use this information to identify individual visitors or track their browsing behaviour.
3. Purposes and legal basis of processing
The processing described above is necessary to:
- Deliver the website and its content to visitors.
- Maintain the availability, integrity and security of the website.
- Detect and prevent technical issues, abuse and malicious activity.
The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests).
My legitimate interests are operating a publicly accessible website, ensuring its technical functionality and protecting it against security threats. These interests do not override the rights and freedoms of website visitors.
4. Hosting provider
This website is currently hosted by Netlify, Inc., which provides website hosting and content delivery services.
Netlify processes technical information, including visitors' IP addresses and other request metadata, as necessary to deliver the website and provide its services.
Netlify acts as a data processor on my behalf when processing website visitor data. Its processing is governed by its Data Processing Agreement (DPA), which forms part of its applicable service agreement.
Netlify's publicly documented data protection arrangements include:
- Processing personal data only as necessary to provide its services.
- Using authorised subprocessors to provide parts of its infrastructure.
- Implementing technical and organisational security measures.
- Applying appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
Further information:
5. Domain registration and DNS
My domain, dgmn.eu, is registered and its DNS records are managed through Hetzner Online GmbH.
Hetzner provides domain registration and DNS management services. It does not host the content of this website.
Technical information relating to DNS requests may be processed as necessary to provide and operate these services.
Further information is available in Hetzner's Privacy Policy.
6. Cookies and tracking technologies
This website does not intentionally use cookies, analytics tools, advertising technologies or other tracking mechanisms.
No analytics or advertising profiles are created.
Your browser may nevertheless process technically necessary information when accessing the website.
7. Data retention
I do not independently collect or maintain visitor profiles, usage histories or analytics data.
Technical information processed by my hosting provider is retained according to its applicable service policies and only for as long as necessary to provide, maintain and secure its services, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Netlify's Free plan currently provides one-day retention for its observability, web analytics and real-user-monitoring history. This does not establish a universal retention period for raw content delivery network (CDN) request logs, for which Netlify does not publish a single generally applicable retention period.
Further information is available in Netlify's logging documentation and its applicable service documentation.
8. International data transfers
My hosting provider, Netlify, Inc., is based in the United States.
Personal data processed through its services may therefore be transferred to or accessed from countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including the United States.
For transfers covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF), Netlify relies on its participation in that framework.
Where the DPF does not apply, Netlify's Data Processing Agreement provides for the use of the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), where required, as an appropriate safeguard under Chapter V of the GDPR.
Netlify may also engage subprocessors in other countries. Further information about these subprocessors and their processing locations is available in Netlify's subprocessor list.
9. Your rights under the GDPR
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights, subject to the applicable legal requirements:
- The right to access your personal data.
- The right to have inaccurate personal data corrected.
- The right to have your personal data erased.
- The right to restrict the processing of your personal data.
- The right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- The right to data portability, where applicable.
To exercise these rights, contact me at phl@dgmn.eu.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the EU Member State where you live, work or where an alleged infringement occurred.
10. Automated decision-making
I do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or similarly significantly affects visitors.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the website, its infrastructure or applicable legal requirements.
The effective date below indicates when this policy was last updated.
