CompetenceOnboarding into an unfamiliar web stack quickly, and running a student project fully online.

Course

A capstone project at the University of Cologne, from 2019/20 to 2023. Student teams build prototypes over the course of the project.

Format change

I converted the project to a fully online, flipped-classroom format and redesigned the digital assessment. The online format was kept after the pandemic.

Crash course

Teams had two weeks of crash-course teaching in React and Tailwind CSS, so they could build their prototypes on a modern web stack without a long ramp-up.

Transfer

The course suggests that teams can learn a new web stack quickly and run a project fully online.
